![]() Pros: + Keeps what is good from earlier SC instead of breaking something that worked very well + Amazing Graphics DISREGARD OF THAT SENTIMENT WILL BE INTERPRETED AS A SIGN OF PURE DISRESPECT AND HATRED TOWARDS YOUR AUDIENCE AND SHALL BE SCORED ACCORDINGLY, NO EXCEPTION. If there's any developers, producers or designers of fighting games reading this, please know that THE CHARACTER CREATION TOOL IS NOW A GOD DAMN STANDARD AND YOU BETTER GET USED TO ADDING IT TO YOUR FUTURE GAMES AS OUR SPECIES DESERVES AND WILL ACCEPT NO LESS FROM NOW ON. There has never been such a functional yet creatively resourceful custom character tool on a fighting game, and I dare to say that even having not tried all of them, that's the commitment of my appreciation for this addition to the game. I lack the verbal prowess to convey the stupendous, prodigious, mind-blogging, formidable, inordinate, nipple-erecting, experience that is creating whatever abomination you decide on the character creation screen and then fighting against hordes of crossover human made fighters online. I get that high res 2D hand made sprites are appealing but that would make it impossible for the best feature ever implemented on a fighting game to exist in the first play so I'm ok with the slighly less beautiful art-style. As you may have gotten used to more flashy games such as Arc Systems', SC VI may feel a little bit plain, but try it regardless. I'm not impressed nor dissatisfied by the mechanics, as I'm not a competitive player I can't really evaluate that aspects. By no means the core gameplay is boring, it's very good in fact with but lacks some of the satisfying sensation of the earlier entries, somehow I feel not as good when my hits connect. It must have been more than 10 years since I had this amount of fun with a fighting game, and all because of the masterpiece level character creation tool. It must have By no means I'm an expert to fighting games but I usually finish all the story modes and play casually in the couch with friends. *3 gets an asterisk because it was PS2 exclusive, and that muddies the comparidon waters.By no means I'm an expert to fighting games but I usually finish all the story modes and play casually in the couch with friends. These two things often don't have any correlation because people are funny that way. I've never looked at impirical sales data, so, that very well may contradict what people said on forums. But V did take a petition or poll or something to get going. I always thought it was nonsense, but it would come up in forums every so often. May not be true, but that's the public consciousness on the matter (again, each game has its die-hard defenders, but I'm speaking broadly) and there were people on forums claiming to quote Namco souces that 4 was going to be the last Calibur. Another factor is people generally feel each game after 2 was a worse experience and did worse sales than the previous entry (not everybody, of course, but that was the vibe on the forums after the initial hype died down). ![]() If you look at the overall timeline, Soul games (not counting offshoots) come 4ish years apart. ![]() I'd be start modding on my own if I'd have the time :( ![]() It's just a shame the modding community is not very active on SC, since modding can turn a game into a quite new experience and keep it great over the years. I'd rather like to have some more fresh content in the meantime. SC5 had been released 2012, SC6 2018, so you gonna wait approx 6 years. ![]() Online is the only interesting mode at this point and it isn't that great.
